SIERRA LEONE GOVERNMENT RECEIVES HELP FROM CHURCH TO  
COMBAT COVID-19

To help curtail the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in Sierra Leone, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and other items to the government of Sierra Leone on Thursday, 7th May 2020.

The donation was done in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MoHS). The items donated include protective disposable gowns, disposable face masks, infrared thermometers, hand sanitizers, veronica buckets, a 10,000-liter water storage tank and two 2,000 liters water storage tanks.

 

The items were handed over by President Kenneth Pambu, Freetown Sierra Leone Stake President on behalf of the Church. While making the donations, he expressed profound thanks to the Government of Sierra Leone for their effort in combating the disease while considering the safety of its citizens. He also thanked the healthcare workers for their selfless service during this difficult period.

Mr. Solomon Caulker, Chief of staff, Covid-19 Response Team, who received the items on behalf of the Government of Sierra Leone thanked the Church for making the donations. He said that the donations were important and truly vital at this time as they will augment Government’s effort in the fight against Covid-19. He promised that the items would be judiciously used to combat the pandemic in the country.
