FREETOWN - SIERRA LEONE YOUNG SINGLE ADULT SUMMIT

More than six hundred Sierra Leoneans participated in a three day Young Single Adult (YSA) Summit organized by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints took place August 9-12, 2018 at the Hastings Police Training Grounds, Freetown. The summit brought together young single members of the Church between the ages of 18 to 30 and their leaders from Freetown and Makeni.

The theme of the summit was centered on ‘Ministering’ just as the lord Jesus Christ chose his disciples to minister unto the people. The principles of one-take-one, self-reliance, sacrifice, patience, and seeking guidance of the Holy Ghost were taught and discussed. Series of activities were also carried out including morning devotions, seminars, a football match and variety show.

In his address to the Young single adults, Head of the Sierra Leone Freetown Mission, President Clawson advised them to be spiritually born again and he further went to say that the best way to understand what God wants for us is to study the scriptures”.

President Pambu, Freetown Stake President encouraged the young single adults to be self-reliant and use their time wisely.

 

According to Bishop O’Neil, "Because we have a living prophet, we are guided everyday of our lives and if we heed these counsels, Sierra Leone will be a better place”.

The summit turned out to be great and inspiring both in the spiritual and social aspects.
